Duct Tape Wallet
It’s easy and it can easily be used, making it a great craft for boys and girls. To create a wallet that can be used to hold more than money, you can create one that is made of fabric in addition to duct tape. Simply tape various pieces of duct tape together in a horizontal fashion and then you will add additional duct tape in the opposite direction in order to make it strong and durable. If you don’t like the look of duct tape, cut out some fabric to line the wallet with. Be sure to make the wallet long enough so it can be folded in half to create a bifold wallet. Then you must add a pocket to the wallet so it can hold your money. The one downside to a duct tape wallet is that it’s usually difficult to store coins inside it as you cannot seem to create tighter pockets for the coins.
Duct Tape Jewelry
For some fun and easy crafts, start by working with some fun jewelry items that you can wear or that your children will enjoy. A bracelet is one of the easiest things to make as you will simply layer the duct tape on top of itself. Be sure that the sticky sides are facing each other and then cut the tape into various strips in order to fit it to your wrist. Once you have it ready for the size of your wrist, you can decorate it. Using different colors of duct tape is a fun way to make it stand out but you can also paint it or use magic markers on it. After its decorated and ready to be worn you will wrap it around your wrist and then take a small amount of duct tape to secure it in place.
Not only can you copy this design for a wrist bracelet, you can also use it for an ankle bracelet or even a ring. Some people will even braid various colors of duct tape together in order to create a unique bracelet or a necklace.
Duct Tape Luggage Tags
Do you have some luggage that is missing it’s tag? If you have a vacation coming up and you’ve yet to place the luggage tags on them, here is a fun way to create a unique luggage tag:
1. Cut two 5-inch strips of duct tape
2. Lay one strip on it’s back so the sticky side is up. Now lay the other duct tape strip on top of the first one.
3. Upon adhering the strips together you will then cut out the duct tape into the shape of a luggage tag.
4. Use a hole punch to create a hole in the top and then use hemp thread or twine in order to make it attached to your luggage
5. Use a magic marker in order to write down your information on the luggage tag
Duct Tape Flower
This can be done by the beginner but you can transform it into a very impressive flower that has flower petals and even thorns on the stem. Create the flower based on the difficultly level of your children. This basically means for your young kids you need to stick to a 2D cut out flower versus a complete 3D version of a flower. To make a unique duct tape flower, follow these instructions:
1. Cut out equal strips of about 2 inches from duct tape. You will want to have a few strips, about 4 to start is a good amount.
2. Place the strips down and keep the sticky side of the duct tape up. Fold an edge of the duct tape over itself and leave excess so it’s sticky on the top and now on the bottom.
3. Take the parallel edge and then fold it over itself. This now means the only sticky part is the strip that you folded over.
4. Do this to all the various pieces of duct tape that you have cut into strips and then you will need to bind the strips together in a clutch. Use a little extra duct tap to bind together all of the stems. Once you do this, the excess sticky strips are now the petals on the flower
5. To create unique petals you can cut some out with various colors of duct tape and then sticking them to the sticky sections of the flower
Duct Tape Bookmark
Another simple craft to create when you use duct tape is to make a bookmark. Stickers along with colored duct tape is a simple way to create a very unique bookmark. All you need to do is to choose on the size of the bookmark. Some can be very long while others will be thicker and shorter. Take the duct tape and then cut out the desired amount and lay it down and then you will lay another layer on top of it. Once you have laid out the duct tape, trim it to create a unique pattern on the sides. Using some scissors to create diamonds and other shapes will easily make for a unique bookmark. Use some yarn to make the bookmark keep it’s place in your book. A hole punch will make a small hole in the top, which allows you to tie the yarn to it and hold your place in the book. To decorate the bookmark in different manners you can try using some permanent markers to color it but you can also use stickers, you may need to place a layer of clear tape over the top of the stickers to hold them in place.
